Minmetals Resources (MMG) said on Monday that shipments of copper concentrate from its Las Bambas copper mine in Peru resumed on Saturday (March 11). Site operations have returned to full capacity.
Roadblocks that had affected shipments of copper concentrate have been cleared, the company said in a news release. Las Bambas Copper will gradually reduce its copper concentrate inventory at the site after the resumption of copper concentrate transport.
Minmetals said it would continue to work closely with communities along the southern road corridor to reach lasting agreements to maintain supply and export logistics.

The Las Bambas Copper mine is a large open-pit copper mine located in Cotabambas, Apurimac, southern Peru. Mine life is estimated to be more than 18 years. The mine produces copper concentrate through conventional processing, with gold and silver and molybdenum concentrate as by-products.
Headquartered in Melbourne, Australia, Minmetals Resources is listed on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange (code 1208) and operates and develops copper, zinc and other metal products in Australia, the Democratic Republic of Congo and Peru. The company's main shareholder is China Minmetals Group.
